I wanted to change my vehicle from a manual to an automatic transmission. Omar at the service desk in Malaga listened patiently to my request and said he would do everything he could to get me an automatic vehicle. He stayed in contact with me, called me several times with updates. Finally he called to tell me that he had located a vehicle for me and when I could exchange vehicles, and all for the same price. They displayed excellent customer service. So thankful to Omar.

Carrentals.com instructions were that a Shuttle was involved and I was to call a specific local phone# given for pick-up. Didn't have a local phone so went to where car rental shuttles were and no supplier there knew of a shuttle to Thrifty. They were so kind as to call the local number given in carrentals.com instructions four times with never an answer. An hour wasted so far dragging our bags, I had seen at other airports where Thrifty in Europe was associated Hertz, so we found Hertz in the car rental garage and the Hertz personnel complained that the instructions were from carrentals.com and other second party sellers were never correct for Thrifty and that they had been sending feedback, they told me that all would have been good had I just stopped at the Hertz counter inside th terminal instead of attemting to follow carrentals.com instructions. They said that they would help us and the car would be brought to where we stood in 20 minutes. They tried to up-sell us to a larger car telling us that it was illegal for the two of us to put our bags on the back seat. They claimed that insurance would not cover us in case of an accident. I had carrentals.com Allianze insurance and they denigrated that as they tried to sell theirs. There was then a very hard push to sell roadside assistance. The car arrived sooner than 20 minutes and had the typical nicks and dings all over but also had a large crease down the drivers side front fender with scratches down the drivers door following, not a pretty sight. The car had an error Code 82 and there was nothing that told us in the car's operating instructions what that code meant. Other than all that, it meat our needs at a very reasonable price. Hopefully Hertz/Spain will not treat me like Hertz/Italy did on recent trips where I returned the car slam full of gasoline and they charged me for another tank of gas five months later.
