My experience with Budget was awful...Due to the renovations in the Santiago airport, I couldn’t refill the tank with the 3/8th that were missing. I was charged the equivalent of a full tank ($35,000 Chilean pesos=$58.00 USD) instead of the cost of the 3/8th ($11,250 Chilean pesos or $18.00 USD) I was supposed to pay. This is completely unfair...I felt like I was robbed because I was forced to pay $40 USD more than the real cost of the gasoline missing. Is this the way to help a customer? Are we dealing with civilized people in Budget or this is the way the company want to tarnish its reputation. You are making money when you rent a car, you DO NOT need to put your hand in my pocket to increase your profits. The representative that serve me is not contributing to improve your reputation. I would NEVER recommend your company to a friend unless you correct this mistake.

Rental was inexpensive relative to other deals I found on the Internet. Paperwork at pick-up was cumbersome and time-consuming but most likely a consequence of local regulations and not company policy but had to wait much longer than I should have until a clerk was available. One tire was significantly low on pressure at pick-up and they took care of it but it should have been taken care of beforehand. Attendees spoke very little English.
