It was at the last moment that I discovered, well hidden in fine print, that my debit card would not be accepted to remove the car (only a credit card). So I had to cancel without possibility of refund, and find another solution urgently. What a pain this history of debit card, more and more common when you want to rent a car!

- Address of recovery of the vehicle inexistent / erroneous: no agency to the address indicated generating additional cost of taxi therefore to find a budget agency that agrees to treat our file (+ 35 €) - The agency wanted us to redo pay the renting on the pretext that the "voucher" was not in the standard format - To prove our good right we had to connect to the internet at our expense, fortunately the operator telecom blocked the addition to + 50 € - We had to signed the condition of the vehicle without even seeing it: "everything is perfect" - When we wanted to return the vehicle a Wednesday afternoon the agency was closed without any indication / reason - We had to call a manager at our expense again (+ 15 €) - It turns out that we were forced to return the car to the airport which was absolutely not planned: additional taxi 30 € to return to the medina - L'agen this tried to charge us a cleaning fee while the vehicle was all clean (cleaned in the morning) - no bill was handed to us ... short customer experience deplorable, a lot of extra cost, wasted time justifying compensation costs

How can I get a cheap car rental in Morocco?

Below we've listed all the tricks of the trade to help you save more money:

  • Compare as many different bargain deals as possible (we make that chore a walk in the park!);
  • By entering only your email address into our Price Drop Alert, you'll know all the unbeatable prices for your desired destination;
  • Research is the key to getting the best rental bargains in town, so be sure to take a look at both airport and non-airport pickup and drop-off outlets before you lock in your ride;
  • You can often save a few dollars if your vacation plans are flexible. Play with different days and dates and see what savings can be made;
  • Pickup and drop-off times typically need to be the same (e.g, both 11 a.m.) or you might be required to pay for an entire extra day;
  • Oftentimes companies reward you big time for paying upfront — keep an eye open for these deals;
  • Book as soon as your vacation dates are locked in. The earlier you book, the bigger the choice.

What is the most popular rental car category in Morocco?

Minis are the smallest vehicle you can rent, and generally, they're the most cost-effective to run too. This is one of the reasons they're such a huge hit with travelers to Morocco. Navigate your way around the interesting sights of Casablanca and Rabat — you won't believe the parking spaces you can squeeze into. Despite their size, minis offer a comfortable ride (just so long as you don't have too much luggage!).

From desert landscapes to oases and mountains, Morocco offers some epic vistas. Why not head out and marvel at a few of them? Leave town and set out on some fun excursions. A full-size SUV is suited to those longer rides. With the power to manage all types of roads, these larger vehicles make it a cinch to get off the beaten path.

Should I get a luxury rental car in Morocco?

You'll be glad to know that there's a broad range of both economy and luxury vehicles to rent in Morocco. What you go with will depend on how much you want to spend and what you're planning to do. Prestige vehicles often spare no expense when it comes to mod cons and comfort. If you're splurging, why not pick a fully kitted-out SUV, or perhaps a fancy mid-size sedan? Alternatively, if you're just after a set of wheels to whiz around town in as economically as possible, you're better off choosing a no-frills compact vehicle (or something else that won't break the bank).
