This is the second time It happens to me. I purchased insurance through your site and reservation, when it came to pickup the vehicle they forced me to buy extra insurance as they pointed out to me that in Costa Rica you have to have third party coverage. I am covered by my credit card and your insurance. Can you clarified?

I booked online, picked it up at my convenience, and enjoyed the car for three day trips in Guanacaste for under $100 US, including fuel. What a deal!

Everything went as expected. The car was as promised and the agent was very friendly and helpful but... I don't like the fact that they actually took almost $700 from my VISA account instantly against my $80 rental contract and then informed me upon my return that it would take two to three days to process the return of the over $600 security deposit to my account. This over-the-top deposit policy on top of the forced $30/day insurance package on a $50 rental is a sign that we are still being played by car rental agents in developing countries. I guess that is the price of vacationing in beautiful Costa Rica.

Although their website states to provide proof of TPL insurance to avoid paying it - they do not honor it. They rip you off every chance they get..... We left and went to Budget where they honored our coverage for Third Party Liability....

The greeting at airport by Dollar staff was very helpful as little English speaking people were available. Shuttle van was prompt and very courteous and efficient in getting us to our car. Rental went along very smoothly.

The staff at the Dollar Car Rental in Liberia were great. They were easy to find in the airport and transported us to their rental lot. The rental car worked well, but was challenged by some of the hills to / from Tamarindo.

Europcar was a good company to deal with in all aspects except price. I ended up paying triple the price I booked online for a lesser car. I will not book online again in Costa Rica.
