Inventory at the on airport facility was running low, so I booked Hertz at an off-airport location. To my dismay when I arrived by Uber (my expense) at that location, I learned that the airport took our cars. I had read multiple complaints about this same situation in online reviews, and now I experienced the same inconvenience, blind-sided by the disregard for my reservation. Several other clients with reservations were also not provided cars. Did I say inconvenience? I was stranded. No car. They called around to other local Hertz outlets without success and asked if I wanted to go to another city to try for a car there. Another city? The Richmond airport is 86 miles away; downtown Hampton is only 20 miles. Should I take a taxi at my expense to get a car there? This is a recurring problem at this airport. It may not be exclusively a Hertz problem, but it is Hertz that let me down.

I had a very pleasant experience fast and accurate pickup.
