We have rented many cars over the past year thru budget and Others (usually thru Carrentals.com) As a friend had rented a car the day before from this place in PSL and was late in picking up, the place was closed. She was able to get car next morning..no problem. As we were in area 50 minutes before pick up time, we stopped and asked if there was a problem if we picked up car early. ( I was not aware at the time the place closed and did not want the same problem) The owner said NO PROBLEM. But FAILED to tell me that picking it up 50 minutes early and if we return it at the reserved scheduled time the next day, we would be paying another days rate. Minutes later, when we got home and i scanned the bill and noticed this (the bill was practically doubled) I called immediately. Without going into details, 20 minutes was spend on the phone speaking with Sue who was RUDE and condescending. IN the end, we drove back to the rental place, returned the car and RERENTED it for the correct time and billing, but still she was Rude and condescending that this was taking up a lot of her time (the process took no more than 10 minutes, and there was no other customers there) and when I asked why she did not mention that this would have been a problem by picking it up early, her response was that people renting cars should realize that it is a 24 hour rental, and they don't explain to every person as they (customers) respond I Know, I have rented cars before. Well I have rented cars before and normally just put my times in and adjust accordingly. I will admit in afterthought, that I was incorrect, but I did asked when we came in early if it would be an issue, a little friendly advise (As they were aware of our drop off time) would have gone a long way. We did not need to be treated RUDELY with all the sarcasm too.
