Upgraded our rental. Facility is short staffed. Tried to telephone facility for assistance with a lost item. Facility did not answer the phone. I had to drive back to facility and hope they did not rent car again before I was able to retrieve vehicle. Vehicle we rented was not cleaned well. Used paper towels in glove compartment from prior customer. Also, in side driver compartment found prior customers vapor stick. Disgusting. Both issues no doubt due to short staffing of facility so existing staff did not have time to provide good service.

The staff and car were great. My only problem was i took a toll road and was NOT able to pay my fee in the normal way. Instead I've been forced to pay a much bigger amount even though it was one road one time. I feel this is a VERY bad and unfair policy! I should be given the option to pay my fee in the timely manner set up by the toll road authority not by hertzs unfair agreement with them. This is my only complaint in my feelings with Hertz

Picking up is str8 forwards. But when I returned, a sign in the front office door says something like Closed for Thanks Giving. Be back on Nov 25th. You will be responsible for the imposed costs during the holiday. with no guidance of how to return the car during the closed time!
