Question 2

What are the best road trip destinations near Madrid?

Accepted Answer

With some great day trip options in the surrounding area, having your own car makes sense. Without one, it'd be much more difficult to explore everything that Newry, 30 miles away, has to offer. Sunday River Golf Club, Goose Eye Mountain and Grafton Notch State Park alone make the drive out here worthwhile. The locals are also likely to point you toward Colebrook, 45 miles away. If you can only see one thing here, make sure it's The Balsams Wilderness. (But we'd also recommend Poore Family Homestead Historic Farm Museum and Dixville Notch State Park.)
