Europcar desk at Cork airport in Ireland would not accept the vehicle insurance certificates we offered and had obtained through Carental.com partner, Alliance, at the time of making our rental booking. Alliance are huge. Europcar official tabled a policy from their website saying they had that right.
So we we had no choice but to take replacement vehicle insurance on the spot with Europcar. Very cosy. Considerably more expensive. Protracted our collection time.
I immediately contacted Alliance by email. It has been 10 days and i have not had ANY feedback from them. They have our initial insurance premium. We want it returned.
The Europcar official was pleasant enough. And we did get an upgrade to the rented vehicle. But this was a poor experience, still unresolved.
