Question 2

Question 3

What kind of rental car should I get for Santo Domingo?

Accepted Answer

Santo Domingo is a few miles outside of downtown San Jose, so it's likely you'll be doing a decent amount of driving. If you're thinking of using Santo Domingo as a starting point to discover the city and its nearby areas, rent a smaller set of wheels. There's nothing like a compact vehicle for squeezing into those tight parking spaces. Alternatively, if you're moving away from all the hustle and bustle, go for something with a little more power and legroom. Not many tourists regret spending that little bit extra on a full-size or a premium car.

Question 4

Should I get a luxury rental car in Santo Domingo?

Accepted Answer

Sometimes the journey is more significant than the destination, which makes choosing the right car important. If you're planning an epic road trip around Santo Domingo, a robust and stylish SUV could be the ideal solution. If you want a fantastic bargain and plan on sticking mostly to the city, an economy car is a smart pick. All you need to do is decide what will suit you best, load up the car, and rack up those miles.

Question 5

Does Santo Domingo have peak-hour traffic?

Accepted Answer

One of the great things about visiting a smaller city like San Jose is less traffic — and you won't find much of it in the neighborhood of Santo Domingo. However, you may still encounter busier conditions during the normal peak-hour times.

Question 6

Is it difficult to park in Santo Domingo?

Accepted Answer

It can be challenging to get a car space in Santo Domingo. Once you nab one, make sure you pay attention to the signage. Overstaying the maximum time limit or parking where you're not supposed to can take a big chunk out of your vacation budget.

Question 7

What happens if I get a speeding fine while driving a rental car in San Jose?

Accepted Answer

More often than not, your chosen rental car company will charge the amount stated on the fine to your credit card, including local surcharges and taxes. Or they may supply your information to local authorities, who'll then issue a fine straight to you.

Question 8

Are seat belts compulsory in San Jose?
