What are the major attractions in Probolinggo?

Accepted Answer

If your trip to Probolinggo is all organized but your itinerary is looking a bit empty, let us give you a helping hand.

Not far from the city center, Probolinggo Square is one sight to consider putting on your to-do list. If you still have some space on your travel itinerary, Museum Probolinggo and Bayuangga Probolinggo Stadium will keep you on the go too.

Question 2

What are the best road trip destinations near Probolinggo?

Accepted Answer

With some great road trip options available in the surrounding area, renting a car makes good sense. Without one, it wouldn't be half as easy to soak up everything that Malang, 40 miles away, has to offer. Alun-Alun Kota ought to be high up on your list here. GOR Ken Arok and Sempu Island are terrific attractions too. The locals will also likely point you in the direction of Batu, 45 miles away. If you can only see one attraction here, make sure it's Batu Secret Zoo. (But we're also huge fans of Jawa Timur Park 2 and Air Panas Cangar.)

Question 3

What kind of rental car should I get for Probolinggo?

Accepted Answer

Some travelers find driving in heavy traffic in big cities a little daunting. In a small vehicle like a compact or economy, the streets of Probolinggo will be a cinch. Rather spend your days discovering the surrounding mangroves? Have a look at our selection of full-size and mid-size SUVs. With plenty of room and more oomph under the hood, these bigger cars will make those long, leisurely drives even more unforgettable. Question 4

Should I get a luxury rental car in Probolinggo?

Accepted Answer

First of all, there's a huge variety of both high-end and economy rental vehicles in Probolinggo. What you go for depends on your funds and what you're hoping to do. Specialty vehicles often spare no expense when it comes to mod cons and comfort. If you're splashing out, why not book an SUV with all the bells and whistles, or perhaps an upmarket medium-sized sedan? Otherwise, if you're just after something to get from A to B as efficiently as possible, you're better off choosing an economy vehicle (or something else that won't burn a hole in your wallet).

Question 6

Does Probolinggo have peak-hour traffic?

Accepted Answer

As with most destinations, the roads are usually busier just before and after work during the week. However, thanks to its smaller population of about 181,700, traffic isn't a huge concern in Probolinggo.

Question 7

What happens if I get a speeding fine while driving a rental car in East Java?

Normally, one of two things will happen. Your rental company may bill the fined amount to your credit card. This is the more common practice. Or it may forward your contact information to the relevant local authority so the fine is issued to you directly.
