Drive west along the winding island roads until you reach Frederiksted. This Victorian-era town was once a bustling port city, but it’s now a quiet, relaxed place, hosting mostly locals and the occasional cruise ship. You can go diving in the turquoise waters, or visit Fort Fredriksted, a 1760s-era Danish military base. On the other side of the island—25 miles east on the Melvin H. Evans Highway—you’ll find Point Udall, one of the most beautiful viewpoints on St. Croix. This is the place for photo ops and just enjoying the loveliness of nature.
