How do I book?

You can book with CarRentals online, or over the phone.

Good to know:
We cannot guarantee that the exact vehicle you reserved will be available, but the rental company will have a model of the same class available.
You must have a credit card to pick up your vehicle. Depending on your hire contract, the rental company may pre-authorise an amount on the same card to cover the insurance excess in case of damages or loss.

Is insurance available?

Basic insurance is provided by the local car rental company and is included in the price of the car hire. The excess, coverage levels, terms and conditions will vary from company to company, and your voucher will confirm the amount of liability cover provided.

CarRentals offers a range of additional low cost coverage packages which can be purchased at time of booking. These are

Can I use a debit card?

We don’t accept debit cards for booking - please ensure you have a credit card available.

Good to know:
The local car hire company will require a credit card for pickup, on which they will reserve an amount for the deposit. Some local care hire companies may accept debit cards, but only with the payment of a substantial cash deposit.

How do I modify a reservation?

We're sorry, but bookings cannot be changed after confirmation. We can help you with cancelling and rebooking though - please call us.

How do I cancel a reservation?

You can cancel your reservation up to 24 hours before the pickup time by clicking here.

Good to know:
If you cancel less than 24 hours before the pickup time, then you will be liable to pay for the full rental price. A full set of terms and conditions can be found here.

What do I if I'm running late / my plane is delayed?

Local rental companies reserve the right to reallocate vehicles in case of lateness or a "no-show". In the first instance, you should call the local rental station to keep them updated - their number can be found on your care hire voucher.

Good to know:
If applicable, please enter a flight number when booking. The local rental company will track flights and arrival times.

What documents should I bring with me?

All drivers should bring a current driving licence in their name, which should be valid in the country of rental.
You should also bring a credit card for the vehicle deposit, and current government issued photo identification.

Good to know:
As of 8 June 2015, the paper counterpart of the UK photo card driving licence is no longer valid. UK licence holders will need to provide either a licence summary or a DVLA issued unique code upon pick up of their hire car.

How do I get a copy of my receipt?
