When you’re vacationing at the beach, you probably want to soak up all the sunshine, relish every grain of sand, and embrace that salty sea air to the fullest. If you’re anything like me, nothing comes between you and your beach umbrella—except for the allure of shopping.

Because I often find myself torn between basking on the beach and surrendering to my inner fashionista, Las Olas Boulevard is just the place for me—and you, too. The perfect compromise between seaside and shops, this stretch is just minutes from Fort Lauderdale beach in Florida. Located in the downtown area, the strip of stores runs from Andrews Avenue to the Atlantic Ocean.

Beach bums and shopaholics unite at Las Olas shops! Cruise over the shopping mecca and don’t miss these top shops:

Kilwins E Las Olas Blvd

You can’t make a splash without a new swimsuit. Stock up on some swim trunks or a slick bikini at Swimland, located in the western region of the boulevard, between SE 8th Ave and SE 9th Ave. This one-stop beach shop offers all your sea and sand needs, including cover-ups, Hawaiian shirts, sun hats, and even swim goggles. Don’t hit the beach without perusing this store first.

Ann’s Florist and Greenhouse

It doesn’t matter if you’re vacationing in Fort Lauderdale or just enjoying a normal Saturday afternoon—you deserve some flowers in your life. Head just east of Swimland and swing by Ann’s Florist and Greenhouse to brighten up your day with a floral arrangement. This shop, located just west of SE 10th Terrace, also provides a treasure trove of antiques and collectible items, in case you’re looking to pair some fresh flowers with a vintage find.

Tatyana Boutique

Rock the pin-up style at the seaside. Tatyana Boutique turns back the hands of time and features retro-inspired cocktail dresses, swimsuits, accessories, and more. It’s not all about the ladies, though; this shop also presents vintage attire for men and children. Discover 1950s crooner shoes and grooming tools along with toddler dresses and unisex sunglasses. Find all of this old-school fashion across the street from Ann’s Florist, just slightly to the east.

Alex and Ani is sure to charm. This trendy jewelry shop seals their products with the “power of positive energy.” Sort through the vast selection of charms, and find ones with meanings and symbols that speak to you. Build your own charm bracelet, and then add beaded bangles to the mix. Guys can get on the action, too, as the shop offers chain and leather wraps for men. To arrive at this spot, stroll just a few feet east of Tatyana Boutique.

Grand Central Stationary

Stock up on greeting cards and make all your friends jealous of your Florida vacation. Grand Central Stationary is the place to score fancy cards and invitations. Whether you’re planning a big bash and want to impress your guests with top-notch stationary, or are looking to send some old-fashioned snail mail, you’ll find just what you had in mind. This card shop is a short walk east of Alex and Ani.

From treating yourself to a little shopping spree to stocking up on souvenirs, the outdoor Las Olas mall is the hottest retail spot by the sea. The good news is that if you end up shopping ’til you drop, you can always rest up at the beach with a front row view of the Atlantic Ocean!
