I will avoid U-Save in the future for car rentals. Instead of a single shuttle from the airport we had to take 2 shuttles with waits in-between to get to the car rental office. Then the line to check out the car at the office was ridiculously long. They seemed really inefficient in their process with employees running back and forth to back rooms to make copies or check on things. Probably the longest wait I've ever dealt with for a car rental and I rent cars fairly frequently when traveling. Upon returning the car their shuttle driver was not there and while we were told maybe 10 -15 minutes till he arrived, considering how things went upon checking in, we didn't want to take any chances on being late for our flight (since we would then also have to wait around for the second shuttle to get back to the airport). So we ended up paying for a Lyft to get back to the airport in time. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is that all the employees were very nice and the car was fine but the overall experience was not great.

Upon arrival and our turn in line, the employee Lester, asked us to step aside when he could not up sell additional insurance coverage after repeatedly being told that we had full coverage on the rental car. He made us wait for an hour that delayed us in getting to the hotel and getting ready for an interview. He refused to talk to my insurance agent who pointed out that we had sufficient insurance. Lester told us rudely that he did not wish to talk to him. I responded that my agent was just telling him we had full coverage, and Lester responded “I don’t need to be told anything by anybody.” This makes no sense and shows Lester was purposefully being difficult and unhelpful. After asking us to step aside he continued to help others who were behind us in line. Many individuals behind us got their cars and were on their way an hour or so before us. When we asked to see the manager, Lester never made a move to contact him or help any further. He said he had a right to refuse service to us - why would one refuse service to an individual who had prepaid for the car and had full insurance? After waiting for about an hour, we went outside and requested to speak to a manager - another sales agent helped us get our car with no additional insurance coverage required.

This was the worst car rental experience I've ever had. The people weren't friendly (one person smiled AFTER a lot of us being overly friendly. They clearly didn't have customer service in mind. There were multiple steps I had never had at any other rental agencies. I don't remember seeing anywhere where we had to provide our insurance information. If I hadn't had a picture of it in my phone, I would have been forced to get their insurance. The car they said I would get (or similar) was NOTHING like when they tried to give me. I had to pay money to upgrade. It was a con and for that reason, I'm out.
