Booked online through carrentals.com. when we picked up the vehicle the gentleman who served us at the counter was attentive, polite, and helpful. At the time of booking we had received written confirmation from Car Rentals that no additional charges would be added to have my wife added as a driver. Car Rentals indicated that they had received this advice from a Thrifty customer service agent. You can imagine what comes next. We were charged for an additional driver as Thrifty advised it is their policy to charge. We were told if we could produce the written confirmation the charge would be removed. My wife showed the Manager at Thrifty the email confirmation re waiving of charges. She was then told it still wouldn't be waived as it wasn't Thrifty policy and Car Rentals isn't part of Thrifty. My wife had to 'suggest to the Manager that this was an issue the Manager should raise direct with their third party booking agent rather than penalizing us for any alleged misinformation. Eventually the Manager agreed to note the booking number, the name of the staff member at Car Rentals who had advised us that no additional charges would apply for adding a spouse as a driver, and to deal with Car Rentals directly and reimburse us the charge. Not a pleasant way to start a holiday. The vehicle itself was great but when we were given the keys nobody took the time to familiarise us with the car. We had to seek out an agent to provide a basic demonstration of where the buttons were for the telescopic steering, how to operate the sunroof, how to open the gas tank, etc. These aren't always done the same way across all vehicles so a basic demonstration should be a standard when handing over the keys. Note there will be additional taxes and charges that do not appear to be specified on the Car Rentals site when you book. We had a 'vehicle licence fee' + 'CFC & HI SCHG' fee + Tax that added an extra $88.62 USD that we had to pay at the counter.

Started rough, as the bus from the airport only came around about every 30 min. Then we were taken to the Dollar rent a car location because the Thrifty was closed already. Anyway, the paperwork was simple, they weren't pushy about their insurance and the car was clean and drove nicely. Drop-off was a breeze and the shuttle was more efficient. Thank you

Picked up car at Dollar as Thrifty was closed.. took about an hour waiting in line.. mass confusion!! When I got car had only half a tank of gas... My whole Dollar experience was bad... After that my experience with/at Thrifty was great.. Their personnel were knowledgeable, friendly, and polite.. Suggest Thrifty either get Dollar organized or cut ties with them..
