Car rental.com is a great value and the vehicle was held according to agreement. It was also a very fast transaction, at rental cars.com. My experience at the Thrifty counter, not so good. I have been a loyal National Car Rental customer for the past 10 years. The past two transactions were with Car Rental.com. No lot pickup, long lines, not very nice counter staff and was informed that I need to pay for additional insurance, even though I paid for th insurance Car Rental.com recommended. I told this to the agent at the Thirfy counter and was informed it did not include liability which I really feel is gouging the customer.

We arrive at thrifty denver airport office and we were received by a man who was very rude. First he tolds us that by law we have to rent an AWD vehicle because we were going to colorados mountains, these was an extra $600usd from our online rate. After we decline the AWD vehicle, he told us that we must have a insurence of more than $550 for our mid-size car. He tried all the time to convince us by intimidate us to sign the insurance or the AWD vehicule. These was not the first time that we rented a car in U.S. and English is not our first language and the guy took advantage of this. He talked fast and didn´t explain anything. At the end we pay $300usd for a mid-size car and $210usd for the insurance. We will never rent again with thrifty.

I didn’t feel like I understood what was going on and chose things I didn’t really need or want. The first car I got had the check engine light turn on soon after. The employee and manager were very understanding and helpful once I returned the car and tried to get a new one.
