I was very dissatisfied with the handling of my Car rental at Thrifty/Hertz at Nantes Airport. To begin with, I had made a reservation in May 2018 for a pick up 23 December. I had reserved a Ford S-Max as we needed a bigger car for our vacation. We got a Ford C-Max which has a lot less space in the boot than the S-Max. I made a serious research on different web sites to find a car with right size to right prize. Thrifty/Hertz did not deliver on that. They did offer a Mercedez VITO which is like minibus with 9 seats, but nevertheless little room for baggage and not at all the kind of car we wanted. On top of that, I had bought an full insurance via carrentals.com to protect me. Hertz (who represented Thrifty at the airport) did not recognize this insurancepolicy at all and strongly recommended me to buy their insurancepolicy. As this was all conflicting messages after a long trip I felt obliged to cancel my policy via Allianz Global from carrentals.com and buy their insurancepolicy that was almost as expensive as the carrental it self. So we got a smaller car than expected to a total cost of about 50% more than expected. I still haven't got the final cost details.
