The hertz car rental of lynbrook has the ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS I’ve ever seen. I has a sudden death in my family and I really needed to leave first thing in the morning. I rented a car on line the night before. I waited until 9am for the place to open I walk inside and the first thing the agent said to me was there are no more cars available at this time I explained to him the situation and still NO was my answer, I then asked if he could call around and get a car here for later in the day and give me one of the cars that was in the lot, AND AGAIN NO WAS MY ANSWER, Basically he said he there’s nothing he can do. Very Horrible experience at this place I will NEVER RENT anything from them.

What a joke this turned out to be. That a place allows a pick up time when they close their doors. I had a 12 noon pick up and got there shortly thereafter to find that they were closed for the day. There was a hand written sign showing the new hours for Saturday. There normal close time is 1PM but they decided to move it up to 12 noon. Don’t know how long these new hours were in effect but on their door, it had 1PM as the close time for Saturdays printed on it. Same thing happened to another person who was there to pick up her rental and it was closed for her too. There should of have been communication sent to me advising me to get there before 12 noon as they now close earlier and to get my rental. Because of this, I called up Hertz and had to go to the airport to pick up another rental. This in effect delayed my road trip by over 2 hours and doubled the price of the rental that I originally had reserved. Had a rental for a mini van for $355 for the week and ended up paying $710 for a large size SUV. I am totally disgusted that Hertz couldn’t accommodate me for my original price considering this was one of their locations that closed at a time reservations were scheduled for pick up. If better communication was made between Hertz, Carrental.com and myself, none of this would of have happened.

I was scheduled to return a rental to Hertz at 10am and pick up a new rental from them at 10am. I arrived at 9am and returned one rental an hour early and picked up the new rental an hour early. Keep in mind I remained in the same car. When I looked at the receipt the guy charged me an extra hour for the rental. It amounted to 1/3 the cost of the entire rental
