Hertz in La Paz Mexico did not honor my original quote I got on line because it was not reserved directly through them. After 2 hours of negotiations I received a van that was 10 years old with carpet damage.

Terrible experience. I went to pick up the car and there were non available. I lost a day figuring out how to do the trip without the car. I called several times without luck. It’s unbelievable that you don’t make sure there are cars available before assigning them.

1. When we picked up car at La Paz airport, agent implied that only way we could get a car without waiting was to upgrade to more expensive car. (we thought at same rate, but no) 2. When we drove away, noticed that gas gauge was just under full (needle was not touching full line) 3. When returning the car 3 days later at 2:50 PM, office was closed even though sign said it was open until 7:00 PM. So I took a walk and office was open 20 minutes later. 4. I filled up tank 3 miles from office, but the gas gauge needle was not exactly on the full line (but the tank was more full than when we picked the car up). Nonetheless, the guy hassled me about the tank not being full and then CHARGED ME 21 PESOS for bringing the car back with more gas than when I picked it up.
