My reservation was at 7:00am and the desk clerk was 40 minutes late in opening. I almost missed my meeting.

I expect better service and a higher quality rental from Hertz than I do from many other agencies. Unfortunately my recent rental suggested that budget companies like Fox, Budget etc are not only offering better value, they take better care of their customers and rentals. I picked my car up in Chattanooga and was surprised to see that the exterior was filthy. I opened the door to the smell of cigarette smoke. There was sticky residue throughout the passenger cabin, as if a soda had been spilled. Animal hair was in the seats and cash. There were cigarette burns in the back seat. The car had higher than expected miles and drive like it had not been well cared for. Tire pressure was Low and warning lights were on. Brakes needed servicing. Overall a terrible experience.

The staff arrived to the office passed 9am when the hours listed on the website said 7am. I had scheduled my pick up at 9am. The car assigned to me had a flat tire, so we had to do the process twice.
