When renting the car it was a very slow process. Then when we went to pick up the car we were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait - so it took well over an hour for the car rental, which normally takes less than 15 minutes. The car did run well and good service when we returned the call.

Booked/Prepaid for a vehicle for a week Thanksgiving Holiday, flew in Sat before, waited 45mins with only 2 people in front of me. The attendent (Tirzha) was alone all while her Mgr and two other reps sat in the back office. Tirzha, Welcomed and excused the wait , even asked for help from staff but they were all on PCs, internet. After I got my car, she walked all of us to terminal, did walk-around, car needed a car wash but looked ok. Smelled of pets, but I found out it was the last one. IF I wanted a clean Jeep they keep them for last minute customers who can pay the peak prices!!!! What!!!! After all that wait, took it, figured I will clean and disinfect (grant you I had a ADA mother with Oxygen with me). Tirzha tried her best to make all of us happy. OK, we drove around SA, I spent $25 bucks cleaning the car, $15 for a new window wiper since they had no rubber rim anymore, tires pretty bald, drizzle in SA for 3 days. Tried calling FOX 3times a day for 4 days, with no answer or call back to see if a better car was available. Sat Nov 30th, filled the car full tank, returned it to the SA Fox Center (drop off time 6:18am) how no drop box as indicated in reviews (which I should have read before reserving this rental 4 months ago), they had an SA attendant collecting Fox and other rental keys from drop-off while 2 Police Officers were guiding people to park tightly since ramp was getting cramped. I was hesitating to leave keys with attendant( but Salt-n-grey hair woman, with Airport Polo, a tupperwear tray of 15+ key fobs and another 5 people behind me doing same thing, and 2 cops in distance). My gut was still uneasy, but cop yelled they need keys to move cars forward. OK, back home, trying to call Fox, where's receipt email, still no answer and no chat icon available online. I paid roughly 311.38 inc. insurance, but understand the couple behind me paid double for same vehicle that I rented ( Kia Sportage) because Fox lost their Jeep Cherokee reservation. Tirzha, you were the only thing pleasant and hope you the best. FOX, I will never rent from you again, your lack of Customer Service, Website, Call backs, and even staff is horrible!!!

This is my 3rd time renting through Carrentals.com and using FOX as the provider. While the price of the car was great, the service Is OK and the cleanliness of the car poor! This last car I rented was very dirty even though it was ready for rental. When I asked the young man who was with me on initial inspection for dents/Dings why the car was so dirty this is what he said: A) we have dirty water here (San Antonio) B) it’s dusty here C) it’s all the debris on the ground D) the deposit is only $150 at FOX and $2000 at Sixt. Lastly, once I was off of the airport property I had to stop and clean the windows. Unfortunately this was not a good experience. Maybe some would say “you get what you pay for “but I have rented from other companies there for approximately the same amount of money and got extremely clean cars.

the only problem is with receiving a final invoice, i thought i would receive the day i returned the car, but i still have not, but they did charge my credit card for the original amount plus deposit but i do not see any adjustment made for the deposit return yet.

A very rude pe re son called me to say I picked up car after 2p and where was I ..car was due back at 2 also and j will be charged ...tone was rude and condescending as if I could not pay for the car. I would not use or recommend fox to anyone to be talked to that way

This is the second time I have rented from this company. Two years ago I got a car with a dead battery. I ended up in the middle of nowhere with a cat I couldn't get started any longer. It took me one day and one night to get a replacement battery - time I lost during my vacation. Company reimbursed me for the battery though, but time was lost. Also oil was low, I even had to fill up oil. This time a car was given to me with a tire which lost air after I picked it up. Two hours on the road after pick up I had to refill it. After that every day. I ended up getting the tire fixed at a car repair shop and again I lost time. This time I spoke to the manager telling him that his branch should better take care of their cars and don't outsource maintenance to their customers. After negotiating back and forth he reimbursed me for the tire fix, but said tire add battery issues are not covered by the company, wow! Never had any issue like this at any other cat rental company

Read contract through or you’ll be surprised with paying full price, even on early return. Company isn’t flexible.

My pick up was great and their service was amazing nice staff. very helpfull, thus when we returned car, fox was closed and we didn't know about it. We left car with keys at the left box but they charged us an extra day even though we didn't have one. I can't get them on the phone to talk to anyone. can you help me?

Fox had by far the best rental rate of all the agencies. Easily saved 1/2 on the SUV I rented.
