Customer service was good. Staff was friendly. The truck was a silver chevy silverado, basic model. There were 3 other trucks that had not been rented out, of the exact same make and model, just different colors. I wish I had been given a choice of colors, the silver was by far the most plain. Other than that, everything was good.

Experience was good because there were less people and less crowded at the airport to pick up and return the car since it is coronavirus era.

My experience with Dollar was absolutely horrible. We booked a pickup truck to get us over the pass which we have done before and when we got the truck it was a Silverado. The Silverado is a truck that doesn’t have the ability to raise the seat which was required for us to use it. Given the seat didn’t raise and the car was undrivable for us I went to the counter to request a new truck that would allow the seat to adjust. The lasy at the counter said they only had another Silverado available and I could either take a 2WD car or upgrade to an AWD vehicle. I requested to pay the same rate given the vehicle they provided me was not usable and she said I would have to pay the upgraded cost. It was obvious this lady was not able to make a decision on the rates and the manager was not there as it was 10:30 pm and we had a 2.5 hour drive to complete. I spoke with the customer service to talk about what they could do and they said they couldn’t do anything and I would have to talk with the Boise Dollar rental. When I dropped off the car I spoke to the manager about my situation. She said that since they had the truck available they wouldn’t do anything about the upgrade cost. She said their whole truck fleet was Silverados which had I known that the seats don’t raise would have asked your company if we could find a new provider. In summary, the customer service at Dollar was horrible. They treated me like it was tough luck and kept saying they had the truck available so there’s nothing they could do. I don’t think it’s fair that I had to pay an upgrade cost because they didn’t have a truck that I could use. I will never go through Dollar again.
