I reserved an SUV with enough space to carry 4 passengers and 4 pieces of luggage. Since the list said the vehicle I'd get would be comparable to a Jeep Compass I was happy. At the reservation counter, I asked the young lady if they had any larger vehicles. She told me No. We do not. No worries, this should be enough for my family. Imagine my surprise when I got to the rental and it was a Ford Ecosport with only enough luggage room for 2 pieces of luggage. I went back inside and said I needed something bigger. I was able to get a Chevy Traverse which cost me $64.00 extra. I upgraded as time was of essence and I needed to leave.
Had I known I was going to pay that much for a Chevy Traverse I would have gone with a different rental company. I dropped the vehicle off Sunday, May 10th. Today is March 12th and I've still not had my final receipt e-mailed to me. Additionally, there have been three different authorizations on the credit card I used. 1. $261 for the Ford; 2. $341 for the Chevy; 3. A random $180 which my bank declined due to fraud; and 4. A random $280.
In all of my years, I've never had this much trouble with a rental. At some point, I assume I will get a final receipt which should be $140.49. This was my first and last time using Dollar.
