Though offsite, my experience was filled with ease! The staff were exceptionally friendly and made picking up and dropping off a breeze. The car was exceptionally clean and in great condition for a slightly less than brand new vehicle. First time Thrifty, certainly not my last

I would recommend that it be made clear in the advertising/announcements that Thrify's car rental is NOT at the airport, but ~ 2.5 km away from the airport terminal. Since it was already Winter at that location, this is significant, as it would not have been feasible to walk that distance in the cold and wind at the airport. I had assumed from the fact that the location that came up from my computer entry specifying the airport location, that vehivle pick up was at the terminal building; not so. Further, there was no call-back from the number listed for the pickup of the vehicle nor any further details as to how to pick up, so took a taxi to the location. To be fair, Thrifty did pay for the taxi though. Vehicle was fine and no further problems were encountered.

I booked my rental, then contacted the supplier DIRECTLY. I was assured that even though I didn’t have a credit card, that I could leave a cash deposit. WRONG! You need to have a utility bill with your name and address, a pay stub with the same, and the cash deposit. So even though I had Government Issued Employee ID, and showed my utility bill online, does anyone get paper bills anymore? I was still denied my rental. It would obviously be too difficult for the company to know it’s own policies!

Paid for : Nissan Altima or equivalent Received : Kia Soal Had 4 passengers, so 3 in back seat ( the passenger in the middle couldn`t attach his seat belt) Safety Hazard: All season tires, but were very worn ( 29000 KM ) in blizzard conditions ( Winnipeg in Jan ) Had to drive with extreme caution as vehicle would get stuck in a parking lot if there was any grade. Poor control on corners on snow covered streets I felt fortunate to get back in one piece Clerk / Manager were unresponsive and would only repeat any accidents you pay for down time of Vehicle Will never rent from UDrive ( Economy ) on Sargent Ave in Winnipeg again ( the poor rating is too high for this rental agency )
