All in all, it has worked very smoothly. The rental car was perfectly fine and worth the price. Confusing were a bit of the booking process and the deposit: From HolidayCheck, where we had booked the trip, then about rental car check to CarDelMar. Confirmation from CarRentals.com (Washington, USA !?) - and finally the car was handed over to us by Orlando (Fuerteventura); the deposit was debited from Orlando and would have been refunded by MietwagenCheck in the event of a claim. Hm, if that would be more transparent?

When picking up was first tried to give me a Clio (with Navi) instead of Megan. I had a sat-nav with and did not want a smaller car as it would have been cheaper and the Diverenz should not be refunded. After stock discussion I got then a Berlingo. He was fine. I bought and paid on the internet with full insurance. Nevertheless, the Orlando tried two times "turn on" another insurance. First for 65, - € a little later to the "special offer" for 25, - € - rip off. The deposit should first 780, - € and after the trouble suddenly only 390, - € - strange. After these initial difficulties, everything went well. Car was good - return problem - chargeback the deposit on my credit card was done promptly. Conclusion: Without the initial problems, there would have been a TOP rating here.

After reading bad things on the internet, I was scared and anxious when it came to picking up the car ... But: We have only had good experiences. We have on-site for 35 € (for 8 days) completed a full insurance without a self-service and get a VW Polo in good condition. The only thing was the long overdue service and oil change, but otherwise everything fit! And by the UK without SB even no deposit was due. However, we rented in Costa Calma, not directly at the airport. Presumably the experiences are branch dependent ...
