I wasn’t happy with my experience due to being charged extra fees by them that I wasn’t aware of.

I reserved my car from 8am on day X until 8am on day Y. My flight got in early, so I ended up picking up the car at 7:30am. Without mentioning any change in the reservation terms, Budget attempted to tack on an extra $45 for that extra 30 minutes, which I guess they considered to constitute a full extra day. I told them I would have the car back by 7:30am on day Y to avoid the extra charge, but the temporary hold on my account was still in the incorrect, $45 higher amount even though the receipt I was provided shows the correct amount; still not sure this will be accurately refunded to me. Meanwhile, I also said that I would fill the tank myself and waived the fuel charge. When I returned the car, the lot attendant scanned the car's barcode and printed a receipt for me, but I saw that the receipt showed a $15.99 charge for them refueling the car even though I had filled the tank just a couple of miles earlier near the airport. I had to go into the office and wait in line to correct the mistake and get the $15.99 refunded. No apology from the woman at the counter, who barely made eye contact. This overcharging was all done so casually and sneakily that I have to wonder how many times this location has attempted to overcharge customers and hoped they wouldn't be as vigilant as I was. To Budget: If a customer made a reservation for a certain amount and something happens that changes that amount, you should SAY something to them and make sure it's right. What I learned from this experience is that you get what you pay for. Budget may be the cheapest option, but know that the customer service is seriously lacking and be sure to double- and triple-check your bill against what you were originally quoted.
