The agent at the counter asked me about filling up the car with gas and the charge would be $28.92. I said I would fill it up myself since I was driving only from Raleigh to Greensboro for a one-way rental. He suggested I do the $16.99 deal since I would be driving less than 74 miles. I asked if he was sure it was less than 74 miles. He said definitely. I said OK. When the electronic signature came up with the bill, it showed the $28.92. He said I would get a credit after they check the mileage. When I arrived in Greensboro, that agent didn't mention the credit, so I asked. He said I drove 81 miles. I drove directly from airport to airport, no detours, no stop for food. I was ready to get home. The agent was not helpful. Did not offer any suggestions. Just treated me like I was lying. The Raleigh agent should not have offered this deal if he didn't know for sure the mileage. Now, I've paid almost $30 for a quarter tank of gas. In addition, the car has obviously been driven by a smoker, so i had to drive over an hour with smoke and air freshener. I would not recommend unless there is some remedy for this.

I reserved a Nissan Altima on line but when I got to Avis, the counter help said that I reserved a Nissan Sentra. I know that I didn't because I was deciding between an Altima or an SUV. Would never have chosen a Sentra. The car drove like it needed an alignment. I was afraid to drive over 60 mph. Also, when I returned the car FULL, Avis charged my debit card as if I had not filled up my car. I took my receipt to the counter and the gas charge was removed but had I not checked my receipt, I would have never noticed. This was probably the worse Avis experience I've ever had.
