Great - if you have nothing to do all day! 45 minute wait - only one person working the Avis, Budget, and Payless counters. I think overall 2 star rating is double what should be!

I got my rental at the scheduled time from Phoenix airport but as anyone traveling with kids as the single adult things can be hectic!! The counter agent asks me if I want the insurance and that it’s $79. I said no I do not want that one but do want the limited liability she told me it was $16 a day (which I had the rental 4days. This was within my budget as kids go crazy in lobby and then she says it’s only going to be $34 more and I am covered bumper to bumper and any incident I walk away fully covered. So here I am thinking uh duh what’s the better deal, right?? My total online booking came to 167 and change. So I’m little over 200 ok I said that. I’m distracted and we all no how fast it’s sign this initial here blah blah. Drive over a hour away & she had be totaled up to $385 so I call immediately and told I have to return to their office to resign and cancel the insurance! After 3 attempts Calling get someone to help me and omg I guess I’m out of room! But Avis really got me bad on this one now my total is 484. And upon returning I’m told they can’t do nothing at counter after I returned it but that’s what I was told to do just the date before. Now I’m told to call back and have them fix it but this is a third party insurance co blah blah it’s like I was playing chase for what should have been my family function? Thanks AVIS! #tell everybody

When we picked up the car I questioned why the amount was $45 over what it should have been and was told it was just a deposit and that it would be removed when I returned the car. Well it was not removed when I returned the car and I questioned it so the clerk just processed another invoice in the correct amount. I asked him if he reversed the original invoice and he didn't seem to understand. When I checked our credit card statement we had been billed the incorrect amount. When I phoned to get it corrected I was told that I would have to phone the credit card company to get their authorization for Avis to refund my money!?!? Never heard of this in my life! Then the clerk said if we wait 3 - 5 business days the credit should go through. So we will be checking in 3-5 business days to see if this is true. What a hassle - never before have I been charged a deposit and I have rented with Avis in the past. Will not be renting with Avis in the future.
