I expressly requested a 4x4 suv and chose a 4x4 Edge because I was going to an area with snow. However, I was “upgraded” because the car I’d requested wasn’t available. The car I was given was a 2 wheel drive Explorer, but that fact was not explained. I assumed all Explorers were 4x4. Not OK. I was well away from the Avis office when I discovered the 2wd fact, which I learned through the manual.

Due to unforeseen circumstances with flights being rerouted to this airport and staffing issues in which this is what caused the long wait, I am happy with my experience.
