I've rented with Avis before with exceptional service. This time, however, the associate added on $110 gas precharge when I didn't ask for it. I told her I will fill it myself but she informed me that it's an incentive to bring the car back full and then they'll take it off. I have never had an issue with this before, nor did I ask for it. When I went to return the car, they did not check for anything and went ahead processed the full payment plus the $110 even though I did bring the car back full tank. It's absurd that I then had to go through the added hassle of going to this customer service and have it refunded. The whole process was unnecessary and easily avoided. I hope this practice does not continue unless the customer specifically asks for the precharge. On top of that, the vehicle kept showing that it needed service soon. I don't know whether that's a fault of the branch location or whether the service representative was just giving horrible poor quality service and threw us into a car knowing it was needing service as we were doing a one way trip. Overall, I am not content with the level of service and will be hesitant to book with Avis in the future.

When I booked, my total was $85 according to the booking email. When I arrived to get the car, it was $122 and they wouldn’t honor what was quoted at booking.

Our interactions with people were great, top notch. Our car, however, was questionable. It was super clean, and it was rather new (33,000), but I was a little concerned that we were not going to make it to our destination. We did, so no worries. The people working for Avis earned our return business. They were great.
