Firstly, carrentals.com gave us the wrong address for pick up. I called Avis, using the number I found on google search, and it was a number for an old persons home. I called again, using the number on the carrentals receipt (the one that had the wrong address) and was given the wrong address again by the automated voice on Avis phone line. After getting instructions from a hotel on the real address, I had to walk 30 minutes in a heavy storm with my dog to get the car. When I took the car, I was already late by 1 hour so I hurriedly left. I got 30 minutes onto the motorway and got the tank empty warning. I had to drive on empty on a motorway for another 30 mins before I found a gas station. So far, no apology or reimbursement for the fuel from Avis. Or carrental.com. Shocking service, worst car hire experience of my life. AVOID.
