We arrived about 9:30 in Punta Cana and no one was at the Alamo desk. We were told to go to the other terminal at the airport which was about 1/2 mile away. A long walk with luggage, etc.

Our flight was delayed by snow. When we arrived late and the SUV we ordered was not available. It was now nighttime and we had a 2 hours drive in a country I had never been in before. So, we were stressed to begin with. They had one vehicle left. A larger Chevy Tahoe. In order for us to get the Tahoe we were required to pay over $350.00 for insurance. I had already paid 177.00 for the zero deductible insurance from Allianz. The 350.00 insurance has a $1000.00 deductible. They said I could purchase the zero deductible for another $200.00. Also I could call Allianz and get refunded. So, I called Allianz and they said they would refund. It's been 2 weeks and I haven't recieved that yet. Bottom line my rental was more than double the price I purchased it for online. The whole two weeks in the Dominican Republic I was paranoid that someone would dent the car. I overtipped security guards to watch the car. The agents were friendly but they were only allowed to do what they were told. I hoped for a helpful experience and instead it was stressful and expensive.

I had a confirmed reservation and when I landed was told they overbooked and had no vehicles available. I had to wait 3 hours at the airport for a car to become available.
