Picking up a car at the Wilmington airport is archaic. You have to park about 200 yards away and walk to the terminal. That's okay if it's not raining. However, when I dropped my car off it was pouring down rain. I had my bag, my dog, a backpack, and an umbrella. By the time I got to the cover I was soaked and so was my bag. Just crazy that they don't have a valet or someone to help you if it's raining.

The customer service associates were the best part of this experience. I haven’t rented a car in many years. It was late at night, & my husband is disabled. I had just lost a friend who had passed away that afternoon, & my husband’s best friend was dying & we were going directly to him from the airport. The woman who assisted me when I picked up the car was wonderful. At one point, I burst into tears. I was overwhelmed & couldn’t even answer her questions. She came around the counter & gave me a hug. She let me calm down for a few moments & helped me fill out the forms & explained things to me. She gave me an upgrade, which was an awesome car! The woman who assisted me when I returned the car was soft-spoken & kind. She went over all the details with me & made sure everything was in order. She thanked me sincerely for my business. A very good experience!

The pick up was easy and convenient but that is due to the small size of the airport. The day after I dropped off the car I returned to speak with the employees because I left my garage door opener in the car. Well in the middle of my question to the two individuals at the desk a random women walks up, interrupts my question to talk about being short handed on staff for the day. The two clerks are then attending to her complaining and I am stuck listening to their conversation about lack of employees for the day. Well when they finally returned to me they simply state that a few openers found in several cars and someone already took them to what I assume is a junk pile of forgotten things. Mind you its 8am so its not like it was that late in the day but with no further attempt to call this individual who has the door openers. They did not even move from their positions let alone attempt to help any further, so they are getting ONE star for atrocious customer service. Alamo the company itself was fine but their customer service is lacking to say the least.
