Out & About in Orlando, FL
Orlando Airport rental cars mean you can see the area’s many amusement parks at your leisure. Spend a day at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™, located adjacent to Universal Studios®, Florida. After a day spent amongst broomsticks and movie-themed rides, take some time to do a little shopping at The Mall at Millenia, which features high-end designer shops as well as more affordable retail options.
If you’re in town for several days, you’ll no doubt want to pay a visit to the Walt Disney World® Resort, located about 15 miles southwest of Orlando. Spend some time hanging out at the Magic Kingdom® and meet all of your favorite characters, and don’t forget to watch the fireworks show in the evening to round out your day. You may also want to spend some time in the legendary Florida sunshine, so point your car rental 55 miles northeast to Daytona Beach to lay out on the soft white sand…or drive over it, as Daytona Beach is one of the handful of places in the country that allows beach driving. For a nominal fee per vehicle, you can cruise along the sand and look out over the Atlantic Ocean from the comfort of your car rental.
Whether you have a one-way rental or started your rental car journey at MCO, you can return it at Terminal A or B on the ground level and make your way to where your plane will depart. Orlando International Airport (MCO) started life under the U.S. Army Air Force during the 1940s; over the years, it shifted its traffic to civilian flights, and is now home to two terminals and airlines like Southwest and Delta, among others.
Waiting for Your Flight
If you get to MCO early, grab a snack or a meal and settle in for a relaxing wait. Both terminals have a central space where passengers and guests can share a meal or spend a few more minutes together before fliers head to the gates. If you’ve already said your farewells, head past security to enjoy the shopping and dining opportunities. Grab a coffee or a slice of pizza, and browse the stores for any last-minute souvenirs.
