Explanation of our methodology:

Winners were selected based on over 100,000 post-trip survey responses from CarRentals.com customers renting cars in 2013 across 30 rental car companies for pick-ups within the United States. Customers are asked to rate their car rental experience across several aspects including: vehicle satisfaction, friendliness of staff, rental value, availability of requested vehicle, promptness of shuttle, overall experience, staff knowledge, and desire to rent from the same rental car company again. The rental car companies with the highest scores won the 2013 CarRentals.com Customer Service Awards.
